Over the course of the last 4 months or so we have had about 5 or 6 days worth of rain!
There are fires around
Cape Town that have been burning non-stop for more than a month, I can see some of them on the distant Hottentot Holland mountains at night - the red glow.
Sounds extreme Craig - I am sure we are not talking 24C days either are we?
Beautiful colours in this image - very nice.
I love the symbolism of the road... colors are excellent and the contrast between the deep green and the orange of the road sounds so good! I hope it will come some days of rain soon...
So do those fires die out on their own? Why is noone trying to put them out? I am asking this because very recently I have heard about the kind of damage bushfires have done in Australia
Of course people are trying to put them out - they wont go out because of the heat (30C+ everyday and gets up to 40C+) and then you have the dry warm winds that keeps it burning.
When they go out, the restart after a few days because of the dry winds again.
Feels dry and dusty. Normal? And I like the leading lines.
Yep - early summer is dry and windy, which tends to keep the temp down to high 20C's but after Christmas the wind dies a little and then you get dry 30C+ days - the rest of the week should be 36C.
This is a beautiful pic! Where was it taken?
Beautiful... Very well done.
Makes me want to see the other side.
I really like this shot. I liked it even more when I saw that the middle of the road still had life that had not been trampled over by tires. It's amazing how green everything will turn after a little rain. Hope those fires are out soon.
